The Road Safety Authority (RSA) has today, launched a public consultation to seek views on the requirement for a breakdown emergency pack, including a first aid kit, a high visibility vest, a breakdown triangle and a torch to be carried in all vehicles.

The RSA believes that there is a potential road safety benefit associated with the introduction of emergency packs in vehicles and is an action (105) in the Government’s Road Safety Strategy 2013-2020.

Before making formal proposals to the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, the Road Safety Authority is seeking feedback from the public via this public consultation.
